01 Dec #EveryLeadSavesADog: ZipQuote and Humane Society Partner for the Holidays

This holiday season, ZipQuote is lending a helping hand to the thousands of abandoned furry friends in need at the San Diego Humane Society. For every lead sold now through December 31st, ZipQuote will donate a portion of the proceeds to the shelter, helping to find forever homes for these lovable animals and provide life-saving medical procedures.

With the mission to “Inspire Compassion,” the San Diego Humane Society (SDHS) was founded in 1880 and is the county’s oldest nonprofit organization. Specializing in shelter and adoption services for animals in need, the organization also provides vital medical services and educational training courses.

In 2014 alone, the SDHS saved 8,535 animals, and saw a 337% increase in animals either being adopted or returned to their owners. That same year it also medically examined over 16,500 animals, providing care as needed. By the end of this year, SDHS aims to achieve a major goal: “getting to zero” by saving the life of every adoptable animal in the county.

During a recent visit to SDHS’s headquarters, the ZipQuote team had the opportunity to meet many of its friendly residents and incredible staff. One of the team’s favorites was the lovable Charger, an American Staffordshire Terrier mix. This sweet and friendly pup was rescued by SDHS and has spent the past year in the shelter while he waits to find a forever home.
